ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT - COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an Associate Director of Development for the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). The Associate Director of Development will develop and implement strategies to effectively solicit and close a defined number of major/mid-level gifts within a specified timeframe for the College of Arts and Sciences.This includes creating intentional meetings with unqualified and/or qualified prospects to build a portfolio of mid-to-high net-worth prospects.The Associate Director of Development will collaborate with development and alumni staff as well as faculty within the College of Arts and Sciences and across campus to maximize philanthropic efforts.They will be expected to meet/exceed established metrics on an annual basis - including dollar, visit, solicitations, and proposals presented goals.
Travel may be required for this position.
This position will report to the Senior Director of Development of the College of Arts and Sciences.
This position is hybrid-eligible after the probationary period.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Build a network of high net-worth prospects
Independently strategize and present gift options to prospects
Work closely with the College of Arts and Sciences Dean and Senior Director of Development to engage with members of CAS and develop fundraising strategies
Work with key volunteers and board members to increase engagement and fundraising
Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range: $57,940 - $80,000
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business or related field
Minimum 4 years of fundraising or equivalent experience
Work experience may not substitute for education requirement
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and persuasively
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong presentation skills
Advanced project management skills
Budget management
Knowledge of higher education endowment practices
