1. Oversee the functioning of all building systems, including H/VAC, mechanical, electrical, life safety, security, and plumbing. Coordinate access with Facilities Operations to implement a facility management program, including preventative maintenance. 2. Oversee building access: Execute the building operations schedule, managing timed access for both external and internal doors in the building complex; coordinate with the University's Access Control staff and with internal stakeholders, including Hospitality Catering, Good Life Center, and others. 3. Work closely with the Director of Production and Yale Hospitality Logistics Manager to coordinate resources and address preparedness related to artistic productions and University events and the intersection of these activities with dining operations: ensure technical and artistic riders' requirements are met for productions and events, specifically regarding environmental control, security coordination, and building access; ensure that effective services are in place for all staff to report facilities and maintenance problems, and to ensure that problems are resolved in a timely manner. 4. Conduct regular inspections of all roofs, windows, security installations, fire equipment, mechanical systems, and physical construction to ensure reliability and compliance with codes and building standards. Partner with Yale Facilities Operations to manage mechanical subcontractors. 5. Ensure compliance with fire, health and safety standards, and industry codes; Lead compliance steps for Public Assembly permits; In coordination with the Director of Production, schedule Fire Marshal inspections and maintain flame retardant certification for stock goods. 6. Coordinate with Audience Services team as it relates to safety and security to ensure smooth production and event operation. 7. Ensure timely response to facilities and security emergencies on a 24 hour/7 day a week basis, including fire and intrusion alarms. 8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and partners in Yale Hospitality, Yale Facilities, Yale Police, Public Safety, Emergency Health & Safety, and other university leadership. 9. Collaborate with Yale Security to ensure that all security systems are effective and operational. Identify and specify needs and requirements for design and modification of security systems. 10. Work closely with the Center's staff to address actual and potential issues that facilitate disaster response and recovery. Collaborate with university-wide emergency management coordinators to create and maintain emergency response and evacuation plans for the Center. 11. Work closely with the Deputy Director to plan, budget, and monitor spending on the Center's annual budget maintenance and improvements as well as capital needs; Serve as the lead on building/facility systems and infrastructure. 12. Advise, consult, and intervene as needed to minimize impact of repairs and renovation projects on program activity, and to assure safety and code compliance. Represent the Center in university-wide committees focused on facilities and/or security. 13. Other duties as assigned.
