The Steward School seeks an energetic, organized, and collaborative professional who is passionate about The Steward School's mission and Independent School Admission. This person will join a dynamic and, fast-paced, collegial team. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a facility for developing and implementing processes, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for working with prospective families. This is an 11-month, fully benefited position reporting to the Director of Admissions.
Responsibilities:
Handle all aspects of the Grades 6-8 admission process from inquiry through enrollment.
Maintain a welcoming environment, answering calls and greeting each and every prospective family with importance.
Maintain efficient correspondence via phone calls, email, decision letters, etc.
Arrange and conduct campus tours with applicants and their families.
Plan and participate in Admissions presentations.
Plan, organize, and execute JK-12 admission events for prospective families, applicant families, and newly enrolled families.
Coordinate testing and assist with all necessary screenings.
Manage applicant files: secure transcripts and records, coordinate and collect testing results and appropriate recommendations.
Schedule and manage applicant visit days with the prospective family and the necessary members of the MS Team.
Use the Blackbaud system to report and track applicant information and other pertinent data according to director and board requests.
Organize information for and participate in Admission Committee meetings for Middle School.
Secure and manage parent volunteers to assist with appropriate admission events.
Organize and implement a Parent Ambassador Network to support admission work.
Participate in the monitoring of re-enrollment for current students, with attention to attrition and retention.
Assist in planning and executing the scholarship process.
Attend any division-specific transition and retention meetings as needed.
Attend and assist with any local feeder schools and school fairs for the recruitment of applicants.
Assist with international enrollment.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
Commitment to The Steward School Mission
Bachelor's degree is required.
Collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
Sharp attention to detail and strong command of time management.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude, excellent multi-tasking skills, and adaptability even under occasional pressure and ongoing deadlines.
Excellent communication skills in writing and in person.
Welcome attitude and warm interpersonal skills.
Discretion and sensitivity when dealing with students, families, and campus constituents.
Strong organization and project management skills.
The preferred candidate will have:
Previous admission experience and independent school knowledge are preferred.
Experience with Blackbaud is a plus; command of Google is a must.
