Percentage Of Total Time: | 50 Description of job responsibility/duty: | Web Support: Responsible for processing and completing tickets assigned through our ticket system. These requests come from across the university and need to be addressed in a timely manner. Direct communication with the client is required during this process. Responsible for designing and maintaining websites across all of East Carolina University; utilizing technology to merge audio/video productions with existing websites; managing links and cross promotions with other sites; and implementing interactive forms. Serve as a backup to support the functions of the university home page as well as the news services website.
Percentage Of Total Time: | 20 Description of job responsibility/duty: | Communication/Consulting: Identify customer needs to plan and manage multi-faceted and specialized projects and timelines from creation through delivery of final product. Advise, collaborate and consult with clients, including department heads and their leadership staff, in a variety of ways including face-to-face, direct messaging, and email to assist with the development of communication plans for web-based marketing and public relation activities. The plan will include ways to gauge effectiveness through monitoring web usage and analytics. Present plan to client and other involved parties to receive feedback and further understand client needs.

Serve as a resource to others by researching and identifying new technology to be used and purchased to creatively and innovatively achieve the mission and goals of the university. Communicate program information of clients to targeted audiences through visually appealing and user-friendly websites. University Communication (UC) translates ECU's message into strategic and compelling communication and campaigns through the university web site, news releases, its official social media, East magazine, storytelling, production of promotional videos and video news stories along with infographics, creation and development of promotional brochures, and annual reports. The purpose is to provide strategic communication and marketing guidance and support to increase the knowledge, understanding, appreciation and support of the University and its work with broad and varied constituencies, from prospective students to identified thought leaders to prospective donors.
Through ECU News Services UC performs media relations, public affairs, internal communication and strategic communication work on behalf of the university and reports and disseminates information about events, activities, research, policies, individuals and alumni of the University, both through the media, videos, ecu.edu, the university website and through owned publications and other forums.
UC, through Creative Services, works with all university departments to conceptualize, design, develop, and produce written, audio-visual, digital and print projects to brand, communicate, and market their messages to appropriate audiences. Creative Services also provides strategic marketing advice for the university, including performing advertising buys for the university.
