Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
SALARY: $2,425.5 biweekly, ($63,064.30 per year) with fringe benefits. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Provide comprehensive technical support for the college community, that includes support for classroom spaces, Hyflex and flexible learning modalities/Video Conferencing, collaborative learning, virtual meeting spaces, and event venues virtual and in person including enterprise Zoom, Mersive Solstice and Blackboard Collaborate. Utilize professional photo and video production equipment for assigned projects. Plan and develop audio-visual training programs. Produce and edit audio-visual productions. Provide diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solving issues with all aspects of AV control systems, classroom technology, computers, network, event AV systems, and AV production. Install and deploy new hardware and software to administrative users, faculty and academic spaces and assist with Helpdesk functions including phone support and immediate support for instructors in classrooms. Work closely with the Director of Instructional Media researching emerging technologies, planning for technology life cycle replacement strategies, and collaborating with the Center for Teaching and learning Innovation (CTLI) in the development of training modules for faculty, staff and students. Communicate college technology needs effectively across various stakeholder departments to assist in the development and maintenance of the NSCC technology infrastructure. Manage and maintain inventory of all Media assets. Help ensure college technology security and compliance by following and enforcing departmental and college guidelines and procedures and comply with college inventory and surplus control procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides customer support for all college's audio and visual equipment, AV control systems, switchers, computers, network and classroom technology.
Configures/trouble shoots and installs audiovisual systems and peripheral equipment and programming and upgrading A/V control systems.
Coordinates with vendors, Facilities and other departments as necessary to ensure successful installation and upgrade of A/V control and switching equipment as well as research latest technologies and upgrades for future consideration.
Assist in basic troubleshooting of college technology networks and infrastructure.
Works with staff and faculty, as requested by the Director of Instructional Media, to develop instructional materials: media packages video/audio productions, and interactive video programs that include graphics, and other AV assets.
Assist with advising, planning, producing, and editing audio and video products consistent with the college's mission and strategic plan.
Provide video and/or photo documentation of college events.
Participates with Director of Instructional Media and IS Management to identify and develop annual media-related goals and objectives.
Maintain inventory management/surplus controls by following departmental and college inventory procedures, as well as take part in the department's yearly inventory reconciliation.
Install and deploy new/replacement computers and hardware peripherals such as computer memory, hard drives, NICs, phones and printers.
Performs administrative tasks associated with department activities. Recommends purchase of media software, supplies, parts, tools and equipment for college technology ensuring compatibility with Information Systems specifications.
Responsible for a subset of reporting for data analytics specifically for Media related activities using various data systems including Media Visual Inventory, Media Help Line log and Extron Global Viewer as well as act as an alternative for IS Helpdesk.
As part of a college technology team (IS, CTLI, Library, Academic Affairs), works with faculty and staff to maximize and enhance teaching and learning experience by identifying strategies for effective, innovative and value-based use of technology.
Adhere to Information System's policies and procedures for media services across the College. Ensure college-wide data security policies are adhered to and communicate with management as necessary.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Director of Instructional Media Services
Job Requirements:
Associate degree in Instructional Technology, AV Production or related field or two (2) year's experience and/or training that includes AV production, live event tech support, computer operating systems, hardware/software installation/troubleshooting, network system administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Demonstrated experience with customer service and technical support.
Experience with audio and visual components of event venues virtual and in person.
Demonstrated experience in photography, audio and video production and related postproduction software especially Photoshop, final cut pro, and Premier (both Windows and Mac platforms).
Ability to complete video projects and demonstrate experience in all aspects of production (pre-, pro-, post) and demonstrated experience with editing software (Final Cut, DVD studio pro, Motion, Adobe).
Examples of media work (Photography, video)
Experience with streaming media and cloud platforms as well as digital repositories of media assets including file management.
Ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight.
Ability to travel between campuses as necessary.
Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations.
Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.
PREFERRED:
Knowledge of AV control system software especially Global Viewer Enterprise (GVE), and AV control system hardware especially Extron products.
Experience with AV installation including appropriate mounting of short throw projectors and flat panel displays and audio systems.
Basic knowledge of desktop and networking concepts including TCP/IP v4 & v6, identity management systems (Active Directory or Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), and general network topologies.
Ability to manage installation projects including planning, design, generating quotes/estimates, vendor communication, and internal communication coordinating necessary departments and timelines.
Ability to design, edit and maintain database/inventory and generate reports.
Requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team as well as exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria.
Bachelor degree preferred
