The MSU IT Project Management Team is responsible for planning and execution of priority IT initiatives. Reporting to the Associate Director within the Office of the ACIO, the project manager will primarily perform the following duties:
Develop plans for new initiatives in coordination with leadership and customers/partners.
Manage programs and projects through coordination of stakeholders and resources, creation of deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring progress and status reporting to ensure successful completion.
Resolves conflicts between project resources and other functional areas that may arise as a result of the initiative.
Analyzes processes and systems to identify improvements that maximize operational effectiveness and meet the program goals.
Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans.
Facilitate change management, develop communication and training programs to ensure awareness and understanding of programs, operational processes and procedures.
Prepares and presents reports on the final results of initiatives to leadership, customers/partners and other stakeholders to document the final results of programs and initiatives.

Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business Administration, Management or field related to the employing unit; three to five years of related and progressively more expansive work experience in project management, business analysis, facilitating/training with a focus on business management; workflow process analysis and implementation of strategic initiatives or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience coordinating and leading technology projects.
Proficient with the MS Office Suite.
Experience using formal project management methodologies and scheduling tools.
Proficient oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience using a Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.
Experience In performing technology service process improvements.
Experience using an enterprise Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool such as Team Dynamics.
IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or Project Management Institute (PMI) training and certification.
