Job Description
The Associate Director is responsible for supporting all virtual/on campus visits and recruitment planning over the course of a recruitment year. This includes but is not limited to daily visits, group visits, and specialized program events for prospective and admitted [first year/transfer/dual enrollment] students. This position will work with academic departments, other campus and community stakeholders to ensure the best overall experience for [first year/transfer/dual enrollment] students.
This position will lead a team of 2+ professional staff while collaborating with admissions student workers and tour guides. The Associate Director is responsible for increasing applicant and admitted student yield through exceptional relationship building skills and experiences in collaboration with campus and community stakeholders. Additionally, the Associate is expected to positively impact enrollment by leading the overall department and marketing efforts for [first year/transfer/dual enrollment] students.

Campus Visit, Event and Activities Programming
Establish and execute a strategic plan for [first year/transfer/dual enrollment] student recruitment and enrollment.
Manage incoming [high school/community and technical colleges/access group] visit requests and programming.
Develop and maintain relationships with [high school/community and technical colleges] as well as internal campus partners.
Analyze application, admitted, and enrolled student progression throughout the year. Â
Create and manage programming schedule and operational budget.
Departmental Leadership
Hire, train and oversee student workers.
Provide lead work direction to 2-5 professional staff [Assistant Director(s) x7, Admissions Counselor(s) x10, MAPE Management Analyst 2 x1, and OAS Int x2]. Â Â
Direct [first year/transfer/dual enrollment] student marketing efforts including but not limited to the customer relationships management tool, website content, digital/print materials and social media platforms.
Develop a communication plan for [first year/transfer/dual enrollment] students including campus visits and [first year/transfer/dual enrollment] events.
Additional Duties as Assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Masterâ™s Degree and 3 years of higher education experience [in Admissions, Advising, Enrollment Management or Marketing] or Bachelorâ™s degree plus 4 years of higher education experience [in Admissions, Advising, Enrollment Management or Marketing]
Advanced knowledge of recruitment and enrollment practices and policiesÂ
Understanding of high school and/or community and technical college processes
Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills
High attention to detail
Experience with a customer relationship management tool
Knowledge of marketing strategies
Ability to interact with multiple and diverse groups of people and a commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment
Preferred QualificationÂ
Prior work with high school or community or technical college programs/students
Experience leading people
Other Requirements
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 30 pounds.
Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)
Working conditions are primarily in an office setting. Travel to other sites, occasional evening and weekend work, and occasional overnight travel are required. Â

The law merged the state's community colleges, technical colleges and state universities into one system. The system is separate from the University of Minnesota.
