The Opportunity:
As the Project Manager for the Social & Economic Sciences Research Center (SESRC), you will be responsible for managing all aspects of multiple survey research projects where the majority of which will have a health care focus. Your duties will include client interaction, project planning and specifications, developing and designing study instruments, sample management, data collection implementation, and experience with research approaches that combine qualitative and quantitative methods. You will ensure project success by effectively communicating with staff about project requirements, monitoring project progress, and managing deadlines. Other duties that you will be responsible for include data management, data analysis, quality assurance, report writing, and preparing presentation of research results for publication. You will work collaboratively and independently to develop grant and service center funding proposals as opportunities arise. This position is specialized in research and assessment projects related to healthcare and health care services.
The major job duties include: 1) Collecting quantitative and qualitative data and conducting data analyses 2) Conducting literature reviews 3) Preparing survey and evaluation reports and presentations 4) Managing day-to-day operation of projects 5) Developing and maintaining relationships with clients
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral science, business or economics discipline and three (3) years of progressively responsible related professional research experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated computer software skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office programs, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
Demonstrated data analysis, programming, and data visualization skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with conflicting deadlines.
Demonstrated excellent customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's or Ph.D. degree or 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
Experience with online survey platforms, such as Qualtrics.
Experience with statistical packages, such as SPSS, SAS, or R.
Experience with qualitative analysis packages, such as MAXQDA or NVIVO.
Experience with data visualization platforms, such as Tableau or Power BI.
Experience with quantitative and qualitative research.

Overtime Eligibility: This position is overtime eligible. FTE: 100% This is a Temporary position. Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position expected to end on December 31, 2025. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment. Background Check: This position has been designated by the department to require a background check because it requires access to children or vulnerable adults as defined by RCW 74.34, engages in law enforcement, requires security clearance, interacts with WSU students in a counseling or advising capacity, has access to personal identifying and/or financial information, unsupervised access to university buildings/property, or other business-related need.
