The Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications reports to the Director of Athletics. This position oversees all aspects of sports information including media relations and publications while assisting with game operations and management of statistical data social media channels. This position will manage the scores table for all home athletics contests including timers, official scorers, and statisticians.This position will also assist in the creation of new media marketing, digital media advertising, fundraising strategies, promotions and sponsorship development and fulfillment for MSU Denver Athletics.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Record-keeping and distribution of statistical information to local media outlets, NCAA statistical services, conference and visiting teams.
Oversee athletics media relations including managing relationships with media outlets and developing strategies to connect with both internal and external constituencies.
Create dynamic and engaging materials including press releases, game programs and schedule cards.
Develop content for and oversee the maintenance of RoadrunnersAthletics.com, the official website of MSU Denver Athletics.
Oversee aspects of game operations and game management including press row operations.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
On site administrator will be on a rotation basis for all sporting events
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree.
Five years of experience in collegiate sports information.
Experience and working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Must possess organizational skills along with the ability to work under deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in journalism, communications, sports management, or related field.
Experience using Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premier, InDesign, etc.)
Schedule Information Full-time, 40 hours per week Exempt Days of the Week: Mon " Fri Evenings and Weekend Work: As needed Schedule: Hybrid schedule Travel: Rarely
Salary for Announcement Under Colorado law, MSU Denver is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $57,600-$76,900
This position is paid monthly and is eligible for MSU Denver benefits.
