The Institute for Juvenile Research (IJR) in the Department of Psychiatry is seeking a Research Associate II - Social Sciences to support several community-partnered research studies. The RA will work on various projects under the direction of multiple principal investigators within IJR. IJR's mission is to develop and promote effective policy and practices to prevent mental health difficulties and relieve the mental health burden of children and families living in high poverty urban communities through research, teaching, and direct service. Specifically, this position will help support the clinical trials division, with a focus on recruitment, data management, and participant assessments for studies centered around substance use disorders.
The successful candidate will be exceptionally detail oriented, possess strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to juggle multiple tasks and strong interpersonal skills. The Research Associate will follow established research protocols to recruit and consent participants; facilitate interventions; collect and manage quantitative and qualitative data, coordinate the maintenance of data collection and analysis tools; and maintain positive relationships with community partners. The candidate will also prepare research results for presentations and reports, with opportunities to contribute to publications, grants, and presentations. The candidate may perform other duties related to psychological research and participate in special projects as assigned.
Job Responsibilities (Essential Duties):
With guidance, training, and supervision from the Clinical Trials Manager, study project managers, and project PIs, candidates must be able to: perform surveys and interviews and follow established research protocols. They will also collect, process, and analyze data; summarize research and rest results; assist with study protocol development; participate in inventory tracking; and utilize analysis tools.
This candidate will prepare and contribute statistical data and pertinent information for papers, grants, and other documents. Complete required documentation for regulatory agencies. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Job Knowledge & Skills, Education, Experience:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in social science or related field required. A minimum of one-year related research experience. Knowledge of research concepts, practices, and procedures.
Benefits and Compensation:
The previously determined salary range for this position is $45,000.00 to $47,000.00.
