UMBC’s Facilities Management (FM) department strives to provide excellence in planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance of UMBC’s facilities, grounds and utilities. Our staff maintains 70 university buildings on 512 acres of grounds and provides service to nearly 3.7 million gross square feet of space.
Position Overview:
The Manager of FM's Facilities Support Services area is responsible for the management of the campus-wide Work Control center, the Facilities Management warehouse and receiving operation, and the Student Work Force, as well as the campus-wide custodial contract, custodial supplies, pest control and uniform contracts, and oversight of the professional moving services contracts.

Direct the activities of the campus-wide Facilities Management Work Control Center. Coordinate with various units within FM to determine work status in response to customer inquiries. Administration of Assetworks AiM and ReADY systems, ad-hoc data reporting, identify process improvements to maximize utilization and functionality of systems. Manage campus key control and FM radio contract.
Manage campus contract for custodial services, coordinating housekeeping services with on-site project manager and campus customers. Manage professional moving services contracts, pest control contract, uniform services contract, and custodial supplies contracts. Develop specifications for bid documents for all related contracts.
Supervise the activities of the Facilities Management warehouse and receiving function. Oversee daily warehousing operations to ensure accountability of material acquisitions, timely material delivery and responsive inventory control.
Oversee Student Work Force activities, including event setups, commencements, material delivery and moving service for the campus.
Manage departmental moves to facilitate campus construction and renovation projects. Provides moving services and supplies.
Manage the classroom furniture renewal project. Purchase furniture and oversee installation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
5 years progressively responsible experience in facility maintenance or contract service management in a multi-facility environment
2 years supervisory experience
Valid class C driver's license or equivalent with fewer than 6 points
Tuition remission at UMBC for eligible dependents after two years of FT employment

Salary:
Salary: $91,000 - $102,500 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
