Your Role on the Team
Applying advanced, specialized student services expertise, advises academic units, schools, Graduate Division management, faculty, and students on the most complex international graduate student issues; and has programmatic responsibility for a complex student affairs function that usually has a discrete budget has impact beyond the unit, and involves establishing strategic goals for international recruitment and retention. Is expected to identify systemic problems and issues related to international students and propose solutions to management. Participates in campuswide international student services committees that develop programming, strategic goals and policies and procedures that impact the campus.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $80,000- $85,000 (Annual).
Required:
Advanced knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Knowledge of University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
Interpersonal skills.
Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations.
Advanced knowledge of complex visa and immigration policies, procedures and regulatory requirements for international students and scholars.
Ability in problem identification and reasoning; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems, persuasion, leadership.
Skills in monitoring / assessing people, processes or services, to make improvements.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
A minimum of 5 years of experience in related field
Preferred:
Skills in project management, social perceptiveness to be aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
Master's degree in related area.
Special Conditions:
May need to work some nights/weekends for special projects
