Baylor University is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the mission and vision of Baylor University and serve within Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences. This position will specifically support a Principal Investigator (PI) within the Department of Public Health.
A Bachelor's Degree and two years of relevant experience is required. A Master's Degree and three years of relevant experience is preferred. Education and experience will be considered in lieu of one another.
Preferred Skills
Experience with federal funded grants/projects (i.e., National Institutes of Health (NIH)).
High written communication and coordination skills.
Experience preparing research reports, maintaining and creating budget systems, and tracking progress in alignment with multiple deadlines and timelines.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
Serve as the primary contact for project procedures and processes, as well as data-related reporting questions
Maintain correspondence with and coordinate meetings among the multiple Principal Investigators (mPIs) located in Texas, Minnesota, and Ghana
Work alongside the graduate research assistants, and Ghana-based subaward research coordinator to oversee successful implementation of the project
Support the PI in developing recruitment strategies, verifying that inclusion criteria are met prior to enrollment in the study
Monitor the project regularly for conformity with standard operating procedures, and ensure compliance with federal requirements of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), as well as site-specific research base, IRB, and University regulations
Track study-specific metrics (i.e., overdue data, open queries, etc.) and ensure issues are addressed promptly to stay within grant compliance and deadlines
Learn and maintain a working knowledge of software and/or specialized equipment, procedures, and interventions used in the project
Develop and maintain workflow and records of research activities and prepare periodic and ad hoc reports, as required by investigators and/or regulatory bodies
Provide support to mPIs and graduate students with data entry, as needed to understand and utilize for mandatory NIH reports
Analyze and suggest improvements in the project's execution, multi-site coordination, and ongoing flow of information to ensure effective and streamlined project management
Build databases and maintain database integrity for budget tracking, report maintenance, and other project-related tracking identified by the mPIs
Develop and produce reports on study data, including study deviations and adverse events, for project staff and stakeholders
Assist the mPIs and study team with reviewing and editing project protocols, data collection forms, training materials, patient instructions, and participant calendars
Develop research activity data tracking forms for the research team
Determine supply requirements for new projects, and work with Baylor's internal financial systems to order supplies and maintain budget records
Keep current with all federal, state, sponsor, and institutional policies and laws, standard operating procedures, and guidelines
Demonstrate accountability for continuous learning in accordance with Good Clinical Practice standards and guidelines
Keep current with industry standards, best practices, and trends in therapeutic areas relevant to research studies; makes recommendations and implements changes as appropriate
Engage in other professional development activities as needed to continue to advance knowledge and skill set
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
