Position Summary:
NRECA is looking for an energetic and creative professional to join our Membership team. This position will develop and manage programs to increase member engagement with NRECA, with a strong focus on Cooperation Among Cooperatives. This role involves direct outreach, creating meaningful interactions, developing information assets, and providing guidance and value to members through various materials, initiatives, programs, and communication channels.
NRECA is dedicated to the services we provide to our members. Our Membership team is searching for a new innovative team member who is adaptable, learning oriented and possess a range of project and program management skills to build and coordinate member engagement programs. This role provides the opportunity to work with colleagues across all NRECA departments as well as with our member cooperatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigates and analyzes the evolving needs of the electric cooperative business network with an emphasis on strengthening the professional expertise across the network.
- Leverages existing professional membership programs to facilitate member engagement across the cooperatives.
- Manages programs and resources that support cooperatives with professional development, networking, and other job-role specific member engagement.
- Manages and expands member-focused mentoring and onboarding programs to support voting members and their employees.
- Identifies, develops, and deploys services and support that engage with members at all stages of their career.
- Works closely with professionals across the association to leverage insights about member engagement opportunities. Coordinates and participates in NRECA working groups to increase member engagement.
- Supports the delivery of targeted retention activities both digitally, virtually, and face-to-face, across key priority groups to ensure engagement objectives and return on member investment are achieved.

Qualifications
Formal Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in business management, non-profit management, HR, or related field.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- 5+ years of experience with member or donor outreach, membership or donor engagement, and program management, or related experience.
- 3+ years in a member or donor focused nonprofit or association, or related experience.
- Experience with workforce development programs a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of current membership association engagement trends and best practices.
- Knowledge of project management and business analysis principles.
- Knowledge of the cooperative principles and the electric co-op world.
FLSA Status: Exempt
Essential Physical Requirements:
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
