JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Associate Director of Faculty Affairs provides supervision and guidance to the Office of Faculty Affairs and works with college administrators and administrative staff to ensure compliance with all University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) and the University of Tennessee (UT) System policies and procedures related to faculty. This position ensures faculty-related data are accurately recorded for all official faculty processes and reports across all official systems (e.g., Digital Measures (DM), DASH, and IRIS).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provides supervision for faculty-related processes and related technology to include the Board of Trustees mandated processes, other campus and mandated processes such as the appointment of faculty positions, and online faculty information/faculty activity reporting system used by individual faculty members, departmental and collegiate administrators and staff, as well as other units.

2. Provides management and leadership for human resource functions across the faculty employee life cycle including appointment, evaluation, promotion, tenure, awards and recognition, and separation process.

3. Coordinates new faculty orientation, faculty recognition, and identifies and communicates professional development opportunities for faculty.

4. Develops and delivers regular training opportunities, using both synchronous and asynchronous approaches, for faculty members, faculty administrators, and committees

5. Monitors compliance with required sequence and timing of processes, submission of required materials, certification of training, and regular communication with participants.

6. Manages correction and maintenance of faculty-related data necessary for accurate accreditation, UTHSC and UT System reports, including the Factbook and Board of Trustees reports, as well as integration with the faculty activity reporting system.

7. Develops strategies for use with departmental and college staff to comply with accurate and timely recording, reporting, and entering of faculty-related data.

8. Coordinates the strategic planning, improvement, and coordination of the faculty activity reporting system (e.g., Digital Measures).

9. Participates in college, department, and division-based meetings to identify and implement new functionality in the faculty activity reporting system that will lessen the record-keeping and improve the work of UTHSC faculty units

10. Maintains currency in the fields of human resources, higher education, academic health science centers, technology applications, and relevant policy and regulatory environments.

11. Ensures coherence across all UTHS locations related to Faculty Affairs processes and activities.

12. Supervises the maintenance of the Faculty Affairs website.

13. Performs other related duties as assigned.
