Position Summary
The Associate Dean (hereafter AD") reports to the Senior Associate Dean (and faculty member) of the Full-Time MBA, Executive MBA (EMBA) and Fully Employed MBA (FEMBA) programs. He/she is responsible for leading all staff in the FEMBA and EMBA MBA programs, across three key areas: Student Services, Career Services and Admissions. The AD sets long-term strategic direction and ensure the daily operation of the FEMBA and EMBA programs. The AD is accountable for academic services, student admissions, financial aid allocation, learning outcomes, career counseling outcomes, diversity and inclusiveness of the student body, student satisfaction and rankings of the FEMBA AND EMBA programs. The AD works with the FT MBA program to form strategic and operational efficiencies between the EMBA, FEMBA and FT MBA programs in terms of shared services (such as a consolidated Financial Aid office for all professional programs, joint classes or joint networking event.) In total, the AD has 25-30 staff under their direct and indirect supervision. The AD reports to the faculty senior associate dean for MBA programs who interfaces with faculty involved in the programs, but whose role in policy and practice is somewhat removed from the day to day due to the role of the AD. The AD is responsible for: setting the vision and foundational strategy for the FEMBA/EMBA programs with a mission of constant improvement to the student learning and extracurricular experience, in order to elevate Anderson's MBA program excellence against the hyper-competitive marketplace of leading regional and global business schools.- Develop and execute a strategy to attract the best possible pool of incoming students to the FEMBA/EMBA programs.-Prompt program innovations that represent future market trends and student demand, and translate those into executable plans.- Lead and support staff in providing the best possible student experience consistent with maintaining academic excellence.- Manage the unit's budget, operations and staff- Direct the data collection and statistical functions of the programs, including proactive responses to ranking surveys, student surveys, employer surveys, and other measurement instruments; Manage collaboration with Alumni Services, the Board of Advisors, all other Anderson degree programs, Executive Education, Development, Research Centers and other School entities to jointly advance the interests of the School. Oversee allocation of almost $3M in student financial aid with an eye toward strategically impacting admissions and yield outcomes.- Provide feedback to the dean and senior associate dean regarding all issues related to the operation of the FEMBA/EMBA Programs.- Advance the national and global reputation of the School through an expanded network of employers and employment opportunities, an excellent educational experience and selection of students on par with the best business schools in the world.-Advance the diversity of the student body and nurturing a climate of inclusiveness through programs and innovative initiatives that attract and promote openness, respect, and cultural sensitivity--Prompt and support the growth and innovation of the curricular and learning opportunities of Anderson students, including partnership with Anderson centers and with the extensive network of global immersion programs.-Evaluate the marketplace and internal considerations in developing tuition policy and levels for the FEMBA AND EMBA programs, in consultation with the CFO and COO/CAO.-Create and streamline operational and procedural efficiencies. The AD will also actively engage in collaboration and networking with peers at other leading part-time and executive MBA programs, including participation in such conferences and organizations as the Executive MBA Council, the Part Time MBA Advisory Committee, the GBC Roundtable and/or the GMAC Leadership Conference. Finally, the AD will create backroom synergies, cost savings and overall improvement in administrative operations.
Must be able to work flexible, changing schedules (other than 8-5) and flexible, changing work weeks (i.e. Tues - Sat and/or Mon through Friday and most weekends).
Salary & Compensation

Significant experience interacting effectively with graduate business students, staff, faculty and administrators in part-time, executive and/or online MBA programs. (Required)
Extensive knowledge of part-time and executive MBA programs and graduate business education issues, and the principles, practices, and trends in business management and business management education. (Required)
Demonstrated management experience in higher education, preferably in a professional school setting and in MBA programs for working professionals. (Required)
Management and supervisory skills to lead the office that works with students, faculty, staff and prospective students. Skill in supervision of subordinates including organizing work flow to accomplish stated objectives, delegating responsibility, training, mentoring, and evaluation. Demonstrated skill selecting, supervising, developing and managing the performance of skilled professional staff and volunteer student teams. (Required)
Strong understanding of MBA curricula, the skill sets developed in an MBA program and how they match with management careers, employment trends and opportunities for MBA candidates, and how they are uniquely applied to MBA programs for working professionals. (Required)
Working knowledge of student services affairs such as Registrar, Financial Aid, Career Planning, Student Psychological Services, Center for Student Programming, Center for Accessible Education, Veteran Services, and Office of International Student Services Affairs. (Required)
Demonstrated successful experience in senior MBA admissions capacity and strategic orientation towards MBA admissions review and assessment process, potential and actual admissions pools, and criteria for determining admission acceptability - particularly for MBA programs for working professionals. (Required)
Strong understanding of, and demonstrated experience working with, both synchronous and asynchronous online or hybrid MBA programs and curriculum. (Required)
Experience identifying, developing and implementing innovative solutions and changes. Ability to perform well with frequent interruptions and changing deadlines. (Required)
Experience managing responsive, client-focused customer service organizations. (Required)
Proven experience developing and managing complex financial budgets. (Required)
Outstanding interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with companies, students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, advisory boards, corporate leaders, the media, etc.; to act as a liaison to other departments and organizations. (Required)
Working knowledge of University and UCLA Anderson School of Management rules, regulations, policies, and degree requirements. (Preferred)
Working knowledge of Graduate Division and Registrar's office. (Preferred)
