JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
This role is responsible for performing payroll research, adjustments, analytical duties, auditing accounts, reconciliations, creating and/or maintaining current process documentation, as well as ensuring adherence to all applicable local, state and federal regulations and contract requirements. It will be essential for this role to be able to interpret statutes, policies, and agreements and independently take action in collaboration with the appropriate stakeholders across all parts of the Business, and in every US jurisdiction.
JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the delivery of key payroll projects that include obtaining an understanding of the issue, collaboration with key team members about the issues and co-development of recommendations.â¯Â
Stay updated on changes in Federal, State and Local payroll laws and regulations, implementing necessary changes to remain compliant.â¯Â
Ensure that systems and processes correctly compute and record time, earnings, employee benefits, special deductions, mandated benefits, taxes, and other items that affect net pay and/or company liability.â¯Â
Ensure exiting and newly created processes are documented, tested and reviewed regularlyÂ
Interface with other departments, including HR Operations, Accounting, Legal, and others, and providing proactive and responsive customer service to team members regarding payroll inquiries and issues.â¯Â
Act as main point of contact to external groups on specific payroll data needs for incorporation in other departmental needs.â¯Â
Analyze current processes, create standard and ad hoc specialized reports as enhancements to processes; may make recommendations for process improvements.â¯Â
Assist with account reconciliations and other payroll controls such as balancing payroll results and accounts and adjustments to periodic balances, and year-end Form W-2 statements.â¯Â
Conduct periodic and consistent audits of various payroll processes, procedures, transactions, etc; provide information for internal/external auditors and make recommendations for improvements.â¯Â
Respond promptly and professionally to team member questions, educating them on payroll policies, procedures and self-service options.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's/Master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred in Business, Human Resources, Project Management, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance or related fields.Â
Proven experience in a similar role, specifically with a large organization supporting California payrollÂ
5 years minimum of relevant experience Â
Ability to manage changing priorities and work under tight deadlines, discerning appropriate sense of urgency and related impacts.Â
Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.Â
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.Â
Knowledge of current market trends and regulatory requirements.Â
Abilities to create and manage stakeholder relationships.Â
SPECIALIZED SKILLS:
Experience with Workday, Dayforce, outsourced Managed Services Payroll vendor relationshipÂ
Technical expert in Excel and cloud-based HCM and Payroll SystemsÂ
Highly effective communicator, presenter, problem-solver, etc. Â
Payroll Certifications is a plusÂ

Corporate Positions: In addition to the base salary, this role may be eligible to participate in an annual bonus program based on individual and company performance.
Onsite Property Positions: In addition to the base salary, this role may be eligible to participate in weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly bonus programs.
