KPBS serves the greater San Diego community with informative, cultural, entertaining and educational television, radio, and digital programming. KPBS TV/FM is the public television and radio station for San Diego. Licensed to San Diego State University, KPBS supports and furthers the university's educational and community service mission by informing, enlightening and empowering its audience. It does so not only by presenting national and locally produced programming of value to its San Diego audience, but also by producing programming about San Diego and its people for distribution nationwide.
The KPBS Communications and Marketing Department develops and executes strategic marketing, promotion and communication to KPBS audiences, the public, the press and internal staff about KPBS content, events, activities, audience experience and outreach. The department is responsible for managing the station's brand via messaging, content, advertising, promotion, creative collateral, and producing public events. The department consists of the Director, Social Media Strategist, Manager of Special Events, Graphic Designer, Special Events Coordinators, Interactive Producer, and Digital Marketing Producer.
Under the direction of the Marketing Manager, the Event Calendar Coordinator is responsible for maintaining KPBS Events and Arts calendars with accuracy and precision. The position reviews and edits events submitted by the public, and researches and posts events happening in the community that would be good additions to the calendars.

The Event Calendar Coordinator is responsible for but not limited to:
Administrative Support 95%
Build event listings with relevant key information and photos, videos, links, reviews or other content that adds value to the posting in a timely manner.
Proactively research and post events that have not come through the submission form but are important to include in the calendars.
Under the supervision of the Marketing Manager, ensure the calendar is comprehensive, accessible, accurate and well-organized.
Ensure that content is properly categorized to feed into the appropriate sections of the website.
Adjust calendars as needed and timely communicate those changes to appropriate parties
Ensure accuracy of all content in both the KPBS Events and KPBS Arts calendars.
Maintain consistency between Events and Arts calendars, and enhance existing postings as needed.
Respond to public inquiries regarding calendar entries.
Create and share a monthly traffic report and note trends. Make recommendations based upon data.
Adhere to KPBS editorial guidelines.
Create categories as identified with the web producer and marketing manager.
Work with internal teams to create special calendar listings.
Utilize office equipment, software, social media, and other forms of marketing tools to ensure effective delivery of duties.
Other Duties and Responsibilities as Assigned 5%
Assist Marketing Manager and other marketing team members with one-off administrative and marketing tasks, as needed.

Minimum Education/ Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in an office, administrative environment.
Experience with data entry
Experience using Microsoft Office and Google Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Slides)
Preferred Qualifications and Special Skills
Experience in customer service.
Experience with Photoshop.

Candidates must reside in California, or be willing to relocate, and live within a commutable distance to the SDSU campus at the time of hire.
