Description:
The Hofstra University Department of Global Studies and Geography invites applications for two separate part-time adjunct positions for Spring 2025. Each instructor will teach up to two in-person undergraduate introductory sections of Introduction to Digital Mapping, Geography 060.
The sections are offered on either a Monday/Wednesday schedule or a Tuesday/Thursday schedule.Each class runs for 85 minutes and enrollments for the classes are capped at 35 students. These classes cannot be taught remotely.
For this position, at least a master's degree in geography or closely related discipline is preferred but a graduate diploma in GIS and professional experience with GIS will be considered. Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience and is in line with regional peer institutions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Acting as the instructor of record on a contingent, adjunct basis in the Dept. of Global Studies and Geography.
Qualifications:
Substantial professional experience may be considered in lieu of a master's degree.
Prior college level teaching experience is preferred and demonstrated academic expertise in subject(s) that will be taught is desired.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree preferred.
