The Greater Oregon STEM Hub (GO STEM) is a regional cross-sector collaborative that works to improve and guide integrated science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in Eastern Oregon communities. GO STEM provides engaging learning experiences that promote and inspire educational and personal success among the educators and students it serves across 104 schools, over 38,000 square miles of the seven (7) county region in Eastern Oregon. The Greater Oregon STEM Hub?s Development Director builds and maintains short-and long-term fundraising goals, including grant writing, philanthropic campaigns, managing donor relationships, and expanding sustainable fundraising efforts to advance the Greater Oregon STEM Hub's vision, mission and efforts.
The Development Director builds on and expands existing work fundraising work at the GO STEM Hub and ensures that approaches are aligned with the organization's and its funders' programmatic goals. This position is a vital GO STEM leadership team member, and it includes working closely with the Executive Director and the Program Director. This position is responsible for establishing goals, developing strategies, and achieving outcomes for fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, and a broad range of grant-writing efforts. The Development Director works with Hub staff to implement and complete projects and carries an active portfolio of current and prospective funders with related funding priorities. Through this work, this position supports the work of GO STEM?s programming designed to break through systemic barriers, provide inclusive access to open opportunities, build confidence in K-12 students, provide educator professional development, and design and develop pipelines and pathways for career and college readiness for Eastern Oregon students, educators, and community members.
The Development Director ensures integrity, accountability, and transparency in philanthropic gift and donor record management and maintains accurate reporting systems necessary to document donor and funder engagement, policy and procedure development, and fundraising for implementation and progress toward achieving organizational goals through collaboration with the GO STEM leadership team. This position will develop and expand current fundraising efforts and is responsible for continued growth and sustainability efforts to maintain and build staffing and program efforts across the Hub?s outreach, programs, and efforts.
This position is funded through June 2025. As part of the role's duties, the Development Director will fundraise to self-sustain their position and expand the development and program staff at GO STEM.
