Photography and Video Content Creator
The Opportunity
The Photography and Video Content Creator plays a pivotal role in conceiving and producing high-quality photography and video content that aligns with the university's brand strategy and supports our partners' communication goals. This position involves collaborating with faculty, staff, students and administrators across the university to create engaging and informative multimedia content. Often, photography and videography will occur simultaneously during assignments. The ability to handle both tasks concurrently is essential for this position.

This is a full-time position located in Ithaca, NY, an active and diverse community to work and thrive in! This is an on-campus position. Remote work out of state or the region is not an option for this role.
Compensation: The position will be offered at between $69,500 - $73,000/annual and will be based on the final candidate's skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
These include, but are not limited:
- Conceiving and producing high-quality photography and video content that aligns with the university's brand strategy and our partners' communication goals.
- Utilizing creativity, visual storytelling skills, and a deep understanding of the university's brand to produce high-quality content.
- Collaborating and building strong relationships with faculty, staff, students, and administrators across the university and diverse teams including writers, editors and researchers to create engaging and informative multimedia content.
- Managing and leading multiple projects simultaneously including planning, preproduction, production, editing, post-production, color grading, and archiving for both video and photography.
- Identifying project editorial messages in collaboration with leadership and partners and create draft and final project proposals.
- Demonstrating expertise in photography, videography, lighting, audio, editing of video, audio and photography and post-production.
- Developing and following efficient processes and procedures to maximize production efficiency.
The Photography and Video Content Creator reports to the Director of Operations and Creative Services and works closely with the Director of Multimedia and the UR Creative Services Project Manager.
The ideal Photography and Video Content Creator should be:

What You Need
- Bachelor's degree in photography, videography, arts, marketing, communications, or related field with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in multimedia production or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Creative portfolio of high-quality photography and videography work that demonstrates expertise in photography and video production and editing.
- Proficiency in Mac OS and Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant software including Premiere Pro and Photoshop.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven project management abilities, deadline driven, highly organized and able to work independently while handling multiple tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and effectively on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. Some travel required.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy photographic lighting equipment (up to 100lbs.). May be on feet 12 hours in a day carrying a camera bag (25 lbs.) and tripod (10 lbs.).
- Visual strain may occur from focusing cameras and working at computer. Ability to get to and from location in a timely manner is imperative. Ability and willingness to work outdoors in the following situations, each of which require care to avoid hazards.
