Tennessee Equine Hospital is looking for a board certified or residency trained internist to join our team. An ECC diplomate would also be strongly considered for this position. This person would work alongside multiple ambulatory doctors, one to two board-certified surgeons, one board-certified internist, interns, and a fully staffed teamat our primary facility. We are looking for an enthusiastic positive team player to help build caseload and further the practice’s reputation for high quality specialty and emergency services. A full-time applicant will initially do some field work to augment the internal medicine caseload. The candidate will also be expected to help foster relationships with our satellite veterinarians as well as local veterinarians. The position offers certain degree of flexibility, and we will support any disciplines or special skills that you may bring to the plate. Part time applicants may be considered. After hours on call will be split with the other internist. Primary and secondary on call is shared with our two surgeons and there is always an ambulatory doctor on call as well.
Tennessee Equine Hospital is a thirty-two stall referral and primary care equine practice based in Middle TN with three satellite facilities around the state insuring a steady caseload of referrals. We perform primary care, referral, and emergency services, including sports medicine, surgery, internal medicine, reproduction, preventive care, ambulatory, emergency, and critical care services. The practice has a low-field MRI, nuclear scintigraphy, digital radiography, GE ultrasound, diode laser, shock wave therapy, 3M and 1.6 M endoscopes, and an isolation facility.
The main hospital is located in Thompsons Station, in the wealthiest county in TN, 35 minutes south of Nashville, 4 hours from the Appalachian Mountains and 6 hours from the Gulf of Mexico beaches. The horse population is diverse with a mix of Western and English disciplines and a large facility with horse shows for most of the year. The caseload is highly diverse and the clientele is extremely pleasant. You will enjoy the Southern hospitality and the warm climate!!

Board certification is preferred, but residency trained candidates will be strongly considered. We have specialists on staff able to provide support, second opinions, and more advanced care for patients from referral veterinarians.
Our facility is equipped with 35 stalls, outpatient exam areas, covered lameness arena, diagnostic imaging suite including Nuclear Scintingraphy and MRI, surgical suite, and isolation barn.
