Position Overview and Scope of Work:
ACBS is hiring a full-time (or part-time) Membership Coordinator to join our team. This is a new position for the organization and will be responsible for the association’s membership operations, including recruitment, retention, and engagement. We are looking for an energetic individual who enjoys working with diverse international members and volunteers. The successful candidate must be responsive, proactive, resourceful, able to work in a team environment, and able to juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
We are looking for a leader who will execute the development, planning, and management of ACBS’s membership engagement. The Membership Coordinator will work with other staff and volunteer leaders to develop strategic initiatives to understand the needs of the ACBS community, develop necessary resources, and effectively communicate them. This person will provide ad hoc management assistance (elections, webinars, meetings, project support as time permits, etc.) for the association’s components (e.g., chapters, SIGs, affiliates, etc.).
Position specifics:
Manage the day-to-day activities to retain and grow the association’s membership.
Create and manage membership renewal campaigns.
Liaise with the Chapter/SIG and Membership Committees – draft agendas (as needed), attend virtual meetings, take minutes, and assist committee members to reach their goals.
Develop and implement new member programs and services, detailing content, scope, and cost of new programs.
Update member database records and be responsible for the integrity of the membership database/ association management system.
Track and report membership metrics.
Coordinate volunteers to create and update resource content on the ACBS website.
Manage communications to association components, including:
Email segmentation and article drafting
Create communication updates for Chapter/SIG leaders
Membership relevant content write ups for the ACBS newsletter and other outlets
Document processes & procedures.
Provide support for the annual conference and other events as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Contract, Full time, or Part time candidates considered.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and competencies:
Minimum 3 years professional experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
Self-motivated and responsible; able to perform work and meet goals without constant oversight.
Demonstrated project management skills, with the capacity to develop and implement new concepts and strategies.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate clearly with a diverse audience.
Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suites.
Comfortable with technology, able to learn new software.
Able to work a flexible schedule, including very rare evenings and weekends, in order to meet online with volunteers in different countries/time zones.
Willing to travel once or twice per year for 2-3 weeks total. (negotiable)
Association familiarity/experience preferred.
Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is a plus, but not required.
