The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Records Management Specialist II to work under minimal supervison, to document and maintain institutional or department records, often of a complex and confidential nature. This position receives records, reviews, and verifies appropriateness of documentation. It process charitable donation campus-wide, ensures those donations are correctly deposited and issues tax receipts to the donors. It will also assist in maintaining a current biographical database for the university.
This position will report to the Director of Gifts and Records Administration in the Office of Advancement.
Will offer a four day - ten hour/day work schedule after successful probationary period.
Key Duties, Primary Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for timely and accurate receiving, coding, entering, and receipting gifts and other non-gift revenue to the University.
Processes the deposits for the University and manages all procedures relating to gifts in the donor database (CRM Ellucian Advance) including cash and stock gifts, recurring gifts, matching gifts, and honor/memorial gifts.
Answers inquiries of a sensitive nature from internal and external donors.
May train other staff on new or modified processes and procedures, as needed.
Contribute to large scale data entry projects within a team or as an individual task owner.
Hourly Salary:$17.93 per hour.

Associates degree in related field
3 years of related experience
Work experience may substitute for education requirement
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Highly detail oriented.
Awareness of time management and deadlines.
Proficiency in computer literacy and basic business applications, such as Microsoft Office including Excel.
Excellent data entry skills, including speed and accuracy.
Basic knowledge of financial systems and processes.
Ability to learn and apply financial skills and concepts.
Ability to draft professional e-mails, memos, business letters, and reports.
Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively to other departments and donors.
Ability to effectively follow project management principles.
Ability to participate as part of a project team.
Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.
Effective interpersonal skills.
