The Center for Cosmology and Particle Physics (CCPP) at NYU anticipates awarding a postdoctoral associate position to start in September 2025 in the area of high energy theoretical physics. Candidates will pursue independent research projects and work with others in the group as their interests dictate. Selection will be based on evidence of the potential to make important contributions to high energy theoretical physics. 

The CCPP is a center designed to pursue astrophysics, cosmology, and high energy physics in a unified setting that encourages broad interaction between these disciplines. Within high energy physics, the faculty of the CCPP pursue particle theory, gravity, cosmology, string theory, and experimental particle physics. Within astrophysics, the faculty of the CCPP pursue observational and theoretical cosmology, large astronomical surveys, intensity mapping, astroparticle physics, exoplanets, high energy astrophysics, time domain astrophysics, supernovae, and numerical astrophysics. The activities in the center encourage the interchange of ideas and cross-disciplinary collaboration among these areas.

Postdocs benefit from the lively atmosphere of the Center and a vibrant visitors program. Members of the CCPP collaborate closely with other centers in the physics department, such as the Center for Quantum Phenomena (CQP), and NYU's Courant Institute and the Center for Data Science. The CCPP also has close ties to the nearby Flatiron Institute?s Center for Computational Astrophysics (CCA), with weekly joint group meetings and other areas of cooperation. Members of CCPP participate in the ATLAS experiment, the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) project, the Las Cumbres Observatory, the Pierre Auger collaboration, the Sloan Digital Sky Survey V project, and SphereX.

Appointments are usually for three years. Exceptional candidates will be considered for longer term appointments. Those proposing to come with funding from outside fellowships will be eligible for continuation of their appointment.
