A historic location in Portland, Oregon, that has been home to over 60 years of veterinary practices is seeking an experienced associate veterinarian to join its boutique, AAHA-certified, and Fear Free Certified clinic. Known for providing high-quality, low-stress care, the practice is equipped with advanced technology, including panoramic digital dental x-rays, an in-house lab, digital x-rays, and ultrasound. The facility features 3 exam rooms, a procedure room, a surgery suite, a kennel, two offices, a breakroom, and a treatment area.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience, capable of performing general surgeries, diagnosing and treating patients, and providing personalized care to a loyal client base. The practice treats cats, dogs, backyard fowl, and pocket pets. A passion for learning and a leadership mindset is preferred, as the practice owners are looking for a candidate interested in potential ownership.
The position offers a Monday to Thursday schedule from 9 AM to 6 PM, promoting a strong work-life balance with no weekends, on-call, or after-hours duties. Compensation starts at a minimum of $160K ProSal with 21%, and the benefits package includes full medical, dental, and vision insurance, long-term disability, PTO, professional fees, CE allowance, and an equity bonus after one year.
This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian seeking long-term growth and ownership potential in a well-established, community-focused practice.
Inclusive Vet Solutions was born from my journey in the veterinary field, beginning in 2000 when I worked in a diverse practice in The Colony, Texas. This early experience showed me the value of diverse perspectives and how they positively impact patient care and team dynamics. However, as I moved through various roles over the years, I encountered a lack of diversity and was often treated as a token presence, leaving me feeling isolated and unsupported. When I transitioned into management, I set out to create a different kind of environment, actively recruiting diverse team members. Seeing clients connect with our team and experiencing the enriched relationships that inclusivity brought reaffirmed my commitment to fostering welcoming and supportive workplaces.
After relocating to the Pacific Northwest, I was culture-shocked by the area’s low diversity and faced microaggressions and even bigoted language in the workplace. Disheartened but determined, I recognized the need to advocate for individuals who, like me, experienced inequity in a field where minorities make up only 10% or less. In August 2024, I founded Charleston Veterinary Recruiting, and as I formalized my LLC, I ren...amed it Inclusive Vet Solutions to better reflect my mission. Today, Inclusive Vet Solutions is dedicated to empowering and connecting underrepresented veterinary professionals with organizations that value and support them, ensuring fair, inclusive, and respectful work environments for all.
