The newly established Associate Director of Development for Parent and Family Giving is essential in supporting parents and families as they engage in the life of the university, fostering connections that enhance the Miami experience and drive meaningful support.

Duties:
Act as an integral part of the development team, collaborating closely with the Senior Director of Development to advance campaign goals specifically for parent and family giving.
Drive strategic fundraising efforts and meet annual targets for Parent and Family Giving.
Travel extensively across regions and nationwide to build lasting relationships that support ambitious fundraising metrics.
Partner with the Senior Director of Development to develop and execute a comprehensive engagement and fundraising strategy for current students' parents to increase philanthropic support significantly.
Design programming, events, volunteer opportunities, and communications to maximize Miami University Parent community engagement.
Prepare and present gift proposals to prospects with input from faculty, administrators, deans, and development officers. Proposals may include multi-year commitments and various giving options, including real estate, personal property, securities, wills, trusts, annuities, and insurance.
Facilitate parent and family involvement through campus visits and regional events.
Develop and implement assessment, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for assigned prospects, working in collaboration with Office of Development staff, university faculty, and administrators.
Perform other mission-aligned duties as directed by the Senior Director of Development for Student Life and University Libraries.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of three years of experience in fundraising, sales, business development, and/or comparable work experience. Internships, volunteer work, and other experience gained during the completion of degree programs may be counted towards these requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct fundraising experience – including both individual and corporate experience
Experience working in an educational setting
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Commitment to collaborative approach to fundraising
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
Willingness to travel extensively both on a regional and national level
