Overview
The Research Program in Development Economics (RPDE) part of the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University seeks one experienced Research Coordinator who will provide research management for senior faculty Pascaline Dupas, Seema Jayachandran, and other affiliated faculty. The center faculty conduct research in economics, with a strong policy focus. Current research interests of the group include health; education; gender inequality and gender-based violence; the environment; and how political and social institutions shape individual behavior.
This is a one-year term, benefits-eligible position with a possibility of renewal.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
* Providing project management for field-based projects including drafting IRB protocols, drafting agreements with implementing partners, and mentoring field staff. Drafting narrative reports and presentation to present to donors. Support various field-based projects and providing other assistance with research and dissemination of information. Produce research briefs for dissemination with the objective of increasing the visibility of the research of Program. Assist with copy-editing manuscripts, drafting op-eds and policy outreach materials and literature reviews. Website design and management. Assist with data analysis, as needed.
* Administering external grants, including supporting/drafting grant applications, production of interim and final reporting, budget management and closeout.
* Providing high-level summaries of internal budgets for the RPDE director and faculty
* Managing the program's predoctoral/senior research specialists hires and mentoring
* Providing research assistance such as conducting literatures reviews and copy-editing manuscripts
* Creating and managing activities through which RPDE supports undergraduates and masterâ™s students with an interest in development economics
* Assisting RPDE faculty, staff, and associates with other research support and administrative matters as necessary.
Qualifications
* Advanced degree (MPA, MPP, JD, or related field.)
* 2+ yearsâ™ experience participating in research involving survey data collection or managing research grants and contracts, or demonstrated knowledge in related matters
* Ability to interact and function in a cross-disciplinary academic environment.
* Strong personal initiative (self-motivated and self-directed)
* Excellent research and writing skills
* Experience/comfort contacting human sources on the phone to seek data and develop research collaborations
* Proficient in the use of Stata or comparable statistical software for academic research
* High level of emotional intelligence, judgment and strategic agility
* Ability to work with confidential information and data
