The Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering department is seeking two Assistant/Associate Teaching Professors or Assistant/Associate Lecturers for its growing engineering programs, including Smart Manufacturing and Engineering Management.
Job Description
Assistant/Associate Teaching Professors or Assistant/Associate Lecturers (non-tenure track; multiple positions) for its growing engineering programs, including Smart Manufacturing and Engineering Management, to teach undergraduate and master’s level engineering courses; advise students; and provide service to the department and university. The position for Smart Manufacturing Engineering also includes responsibility to oversee and manage recently developed ‘Smart Factory Lab’ in the department. These positions will start in August 2025.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required: For appointment as an Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor, applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, or a closely related field by date of appointment (ABDs may apply, but the doctorate must be completed by the date of appointment). For an appointment as an Assistant or Associate Lecturer, applicants must have a Master’s and/or Ph.D. degree in the above-mentioned areas of Smart Manufacturing and Engineering Management. Appointment to the rank of Associate level requires an established record of high-quality teaching and service.
Consideration may be given to candidates with background and experience in i) Smart Manufacturing/Factory Systems (manufacturing execution system (MES), data analytics, digital twin, smart manufacturing for thermo-fluid and energy systems applications, etc.) and ii) Automation (sensors and instrumentation, controls, machine learning, manufacturing systems, etc.), and, (iii) Engineering Management (engineering economics, supply chain management, operation management, quality management, entrepreneurship etc.)
