Description
The Director of Annual Giving at Pratt Institute is responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive annual giving program to support the Institute's mission and strategic goals. This includes planning, implementing, and evaluating fundraising efforts aimed at alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of the Institute.
The Director will oversee and mentor a team of three professionals, including two Leadership Giving Officers and a Manager of Digital Communications. This role requires close collaboration with other members of the Institutional Advancement team to maximize annual contributions and engage a broad base of supporters.
Examples of Duties
Strategic Planning and Program Development (30%)
Develop and implement a strategic plan for the annual giving program, including setting goals, objectives, and timelines.
Analyze donor data to identify trends, measure the effectiveness of campaigns, and adjust strategies accordingly.
Work closely with other departments, including Alumni Relations, Communications, and Marketing, to coordinate messaging and outreach efforts.
Team Supervision and Management (25%)
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of three, including two Leadership Giving Officers and a Manager of Digital Communications.
Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities for team members.
Campaign and Donor Management (35%)
Oversee all aspects of annual giving campaigns, including direct mail, email, phone, and digital campaigns.
Cultivate and steward relationships with annual donors, ensuring regular communication and recognition.
Recruit and manage volunteers, including alumni and parents, to support fundraising efforts.
Budget and Reporting (10%)
Develop and manage the budget for the annual giving program.
Prepare regular reports on the progress and outcomes of annual giving efforts for senior leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in annual giving or a related fundraising role, preferably in a higher education setting.
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful annual giving programs. Strong understanding of fundraising principles and techniques.
Experience with donor databases and fundraising software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
