Hershire Animal Hospital located in Hummelstown Pennsylvania is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate associate veterinarian. We are currently a 5 doctor, privately owned practice looking for a full-time or part-time veterinary associate. We focus on performing high quality, detail-oriented, comprehensive veterinary care. Our well equipped hospital includes in-house idexx bloodwork and urinalysis/sediment reader, digital radiography, high speed dental drill and digital dental radiography, Class IV laser therapy, ultrasound, electrosurgery unit, vessel sealer, digital cytology, and much more. The owner of the practice is trained in performing full abdominal ultrasounds to help provide progressive care.
Our practice uses a ligasure vessel sealing device for all surgeries, even routine spays and neuters so if big dog spays are your nightmare, fear no more! Or if you love surgery, have fun performing a splenectomy or pyometra in under 30 minutes. If surgery isn't your thing, you don't have to do it here and it won't affect your pay/schedule!
Our highly trained staff includes certified veterinary technicians so you can focus on practicing quality medicine. Dr. to Technician ratio is 1:3. Our office hours are M-Th 8am-7pm and Friday 8am-6pm. There are no after hours emergency/on call. Full time associates are scheduled for 32-34 hours per week/3 OR 4 days per week and NO WEEKENDS. Well and sick visits are 30 minutes! We strive to be a family friendly practice as many of our veterinarians and veterinary technicians are #vetmoms.
Patient, kind, and reliable mentoring is available. We have 5 wonderful vets whom you can bounce ideas off of. We have a team mentality and help each other with cases on a daily basis.
Lastly, the owner of Hershire Animal Hospital, Dr. Myers, is a co-owner of Hershey Animal Emergency Center, a 24/7 ER located 10 minutes from Hershire. This allows for easy referral of emergencies and specialized procedures (blood transfusions, feeding tubes, abdominal exploratory, intensive care hospitalization, PU surgeries, etc). for our clients.
A potential candidate must be a team player who shares our core values of kindness and accountability, is highly motivated and has excellent communication skills. Professional special interests will be encouraged.
