Professor Laura Forlano is looking to hire a Research Scientist to work on a grant-funded project on codesign and participatory design, working with participants from business, academia and non-profit organizations in Boston and throughout the Northeast. The position is for 5 years.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have been awarded a PhD in Media, Design, Science and Technology Studies (STS), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or a closely related field by the appointment start date. A successful candidate will have an interdisciplinary background and an interest in digital technology infrastructures, civic design, codesign and participatory design.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Research Scientist will work on projects related to the development of digital technology infrastructures using codesign and participatory design methodologies. Drawing on a deep understanding of ethical, just and equitable design approaches, the Research Scientist will support the development of digital technology infrastructures that serve the public interest. This position involves facilitating codesign sessions, building trust with participants from business, academia and non-profit organizations, and supervising doctoral researchers.
