The Nebraska State College System (NSCS) invites applications for the position of System IT Project Manager.
The System IT Project Manager will oversee software implementations across the System in coordination with a cross functional team of System and College personnel. This is a grant funded position that will report to the Vice Chancellor for IT/CIO for the NSCS in the Lincoln, NE office.
Examples of Work Performed:
Manage software implementations
Lead a cross functional team to achieve project requirements, deadlines and schedules
Coordinate change requests
Coordinate the development of documentation to enable implementation and turnover of the process of system
Establish project goals and develop plans to meet those goals
Maintain project timeframes, budgeting estimates, and status reports
Coordinate project team members, develop schedules, and assign individual responsibilities
Implement IT strategies that deliver projects on schedule and within budget
Use project management tools to track project performance and schedule adherence
Conduct risk assessments for projects
Organize meetings to discuss project goals and progress
Prepare progress reports for leadership and team members
Prepare communications to college communities on projects that include roles, responsibilities, and benefits for students, faculty, and staff.
Co-manage software implementations with vendor project managers
Conduct post-project evaluations
Ensure projects are in alignment with NSCS strategic plan and goals

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or related field.
3 - 5 years of experience implementing projects using project management methodologies.
3 – 5 years of experience utilizing project management software.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Expert level in Microsoft Office Applications.

Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members and management and explain technical issues.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to manage issues that occur during project completion.
