The Stanford Graduate School of Education (GSE) seeks a part-time Curriculum Developer and Professional Learning Program Associate to work in close partnership with a team composed of the Faculty Project Investigator, project lead, peer subject matter curriculum developers, doctoral students and school partners to launch a new international school in Guangzhou, China. The work will be grounded in research backed best practices of teaching and learning as well as the innovation principles of design thinking.
This position is a 1-year fixed term appointment based on Stanford University's main campus. Consideration will be given to a hybrid work schedule (partially onsite and offsite work), subject to operational need. POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Faculty Project Investigator, the person in this role will be responsible for translating the conceptual vision of the project to social studies curriculum units at the secondary level for a new international school that is centered on design thinking. In addition, this person will be responsible for leading the development of culminating interdisciplinary learning experiences for ninth and tenth grades.
We are seeking someone who is creative, highly collaborative, comfortable with iteration and ambiguity, and willing to work on a team. The Curriculum Developer and Professional Learning Program Associate will need the skills of task management, curriculum design and evaluation, and communication to work with multiple stakeholders. This person is also skilled in designing and creating culturally-responsive professional learning experiences. The ideal candidate will be able to identify and think through necessary steps of a project, set deadlines, and hold self and others accountable to outcomes and deadlines.
Typical responsibilities include:
Source, collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function.
Teach and/or assist in the teaching and administration of courses. Develop curriculum. Develop Curriculum-rating survey, detailed feedback on courses and make recommendations for preliminary overview and changes.
Write and/or edit complex content for proposals, research grants, peer-reviewed publications, and other program activities.
Contribute to and inform on strategic program/entity planning and related funding and financial sustainability.
May advise students and/or coach/mentor clients.
Develop or contribute to outreach strategy related to program communications, development, partnerships, and fundraising/funding.
Coach and mentor program staff.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience: Master's degree and a minimum of five years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources.
Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.
Ability to oversee and direct staff.
Basic knowledge of managing budgets and developing financial plans.
Prior successful experience with both curriculum development and professional learning design and facilitation in social studies and interdisciplinary content
Be very familiar with ed tech tools and technology related standards to include ISTE, Learning for Justice, and the New York State Computer Science and Digital Fluency standards
Have experience leading a variety of educators through curriculum development processes
Have experience designing asynchronous online learning modules
Successful experience teaching in elementary and middle school, preferably in ELA and social studies
Certifications and Licenses:
For teaching jobs, an advanced degree or certification may be required for some programs.

The expected pay range for this position is $66,560 - $72,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
