Winchester Architects is looking for an experienced Architect interested in a leadership role with the potential for partnership. Winchester Architects has been a thriving business servicing central Texas since 2003. Winchester Architects is a well respected firm that works closely with clients, respected builders and high-end developers. The right candidate will have proven architectural design skills and experience with junior staff development. Winchester Architects is a mid-sized full-service firm with a track record of great projects throughout central Texas (Austin, Houston, Bryan/College Station, Ft. Worth). We are located in a growing mid-size city with a the second largest university in the US and with easy access to multiple large urban areas. 

• Lead the development of architectural designs and schematics for various projects, ensuring creativity and functionality.
• Collaborate with clients and project stakeholders to understand their vision and requirements.
• Create detailed drawings and models using CAD, Sketchup, and Revit.
• Oversee the design aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards in multiple jurisdictions (Bryan, College Station, Austin, Houston and others).
• Draft comprehensive documentation for construction processes and project specifications.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure seamless project execution.
• Conduct site visits to assess project progress and address any design-related issues that may arise.
• Mentor junior designers and provide guidance on best practices in architectural design.
• Assume a leadership role in the firm.

• Degree in Architecture required and a license is preferred
• Proven experience as an Architectural Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
• Proficiency in design software and tools relevant to architectural design.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Familiarity with mechanical design principles is a plus.
• A keen eye for detail and a passion for innovative design solutions.
• Desire to take on a leadership role.
• Be currently residing in the US and have at least 5 years working for a US based firm. 
• Must have experience in an architecture firm; engineering degrees or experience will not be considered as a substitution.
