About the opportunity:
The Senior Program Manager - Corporates plays a pivotal role within the Executive Education team, focusing on identifying and addressing the unique needs of large corporate clients through a consultative approach. This position is responsible for working closely with clients to understand their strategic goals and tailor programs that align with their organizational needs, offering expert guidance in developing custom solutions. The Senior Program Manager leads program design and delivery, while also facilitating external company visits and integrating consulting services to maximize client value. Additionally, the role manages operational functions, such as financial tracking and contracting, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with client expectations. Through deep engagement with clients and close collaboration with the Associate Director, Senior Directors, and practice leaders, the Senior Program Manager drives impactful, client-centric educational solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development & Consulting (70%):
Lead the design and development of custom corporate programs, working closely with clients to understand their strategic objectives and crafting tailored solutions that align with specific business goals.
Consult with clients throughout the program lifecycle, managing deliverables, milestones, and tasks to ensure alignment with client needs and smooth program execution.
Facilitate external company visits as part of program delivery, coordinating logistics and ensuring that client engagements are meaningful and aligned with program objectives.
Negotiate terms with corporate clients and manage vendor relationships, ensuring efficient delivery of program components and maintaining high standards of service.
Proactively troubleshoot and resolve client-specific issues during both the preparation and delivery phases, ensuring client satisfaction and adapting solutions to evolving needs.
Business Development & Client Engagement (20%):
Support new business development efforts by identifying client needs through a consultative approach, creating tailored program solutions that align with corporate goals.
Conduct research on prospective clients and industry trends, ensuring programs are competitive and aligned with current best practices in executive education.
Draft proposals and create PowerPoint pitch decks customized for corporate clients, demonstrating how our tailored programs and company visit experiences can address their specific challenges.
Contribute to the department's strategic planning, integrating insights from client consultations and market research to drive new program initiatives and business growth.
Operational Management & Internal Strategy (10%):
Assist with operational functions across the Practice, ensuring internal processes are optimized and that key systems are maintained to support accurate information flow and strategic decision-making.
Manage internal financial workbooks and budgets, including contracting, invoice processing, and Practice-wide expense tracking, to ensure that resources are allocated efficiently and align with strategic goals.
Collaborate closely with Practice leadership, program managers, and the budget office, facilitating cross-functional communication that strengthens internal alignment and supports long-term strategic planning.
Lead internal meetings with faculty and leadership teams, ensuring that program content, logistics, and resources are aligned with internal priorities and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in consulting or corporate program development; Bachelor's degree required.
Expertise in consulting with corporate clients to identify needs and develop tailored executive education solutions.
Experience in higher education is beneficial but not mandatory, with a preference for candidates who can bridge corporate and educational environments.
Ability to strategically plan and operationalize short- and long-term programs, aligning with client business objectives.
Experience negotiating and executing agreements with corporate clients and external vendors.
Proven ability to manage deadlines and deliver under pressure, often within high-stakes corporate environments.
Willingness to accommodate client schedules, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, to meet corporate needs.
Ability to work on-site at corporate client locations and travel as needed for program delivery within the U.S. and internationally.
Demonstrated ability to engage with high-level corporate executives to ensure programs meet strategic goals.
Ability to interact effectively with faculty and senior university administrators, aligning corporate and academic objectives.
Strong independent judgment and consulting mindset, with the ability to proactively problem-solve.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills suited to a corporate audience.
High proficiency with corporate software platforms and the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies.
Deep knowledge of corporate program development, including executive education and leadership training solutions.
Financial acumen with an interest in growing expertise in managing program budgets and contracts.
Ability to manage logistics and operations for corporate programs, including transporting materials as needed (up to ~10 lbs.).
