What IT Strategy & Governance contributes to Cardinal Health
Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.
IT Strategy & Governance maintains multi-year strategic IT investment plans for assigned areas of the enterprise and develops business cases and internal buy-in from business leaders by aligning IT investment plans with business needs.
The Senior Technology Strategy Consultant is a pivotal role in TS&E responsible for shaping and driving the strategic direction of GTBS initiatives across the organization. As an individual contributor within TS&E, you will work closely with senior GTBS leadership, business units, and GTBS teams to ensure alignment of technology initiatives with the overall business strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of enterprise architecture, emerging technologies, and business processes to develop and implement strategic roadmaps that enhance business performance.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
Identify opportunities for leveraging technology to improve business outcomes.
Collaborate with senior leadership, business unit leaders, and teams to gather insights and ensure the technology strategy meets business needs.
Act as a trusted advisor on technology strategy and digital transformation.
Design and share technology roadmaps that align with the enterprise?s strategic goals.
Identify key initiatives, dependencies, and resource requirements.
Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to identify opportunities for innovation.
Provide thought leadership on the adoption of new technologies that can drive business growth.
Work closely with the enterprise architecture team to ensure that technology strategy is effectively translated into technical architecture and implementation plans.
Develop and use metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the technology strategy, adjusting as necessary to meet evolving business needs.
Identify potential risks and challenges associated with technology initiatives and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Develop clear, concise, and compelling presentations and reports for senior management, outlining strategies, progress, and outcomes.
Qualifications
8-12 years of experience, preferred
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Keen understanding of financial outcomes, relevant business metrics, and how to measure and deliver value through IT
Broad understanding of various business and technical subjects.
Strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud computing, enterprise resource management applications including experience with distribution and manufacturing systems, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
Proven experience in strategic planning and roadmap development.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to facilitate dynamic conversations with senior leaders, and lead discussions on diverse technical and business topics, drawing out key themes on the fly, adding to conversation, while driving it towards intended outcomes.
Strong problem-solving skills able to help facilitate alignment across diverse parties to develop prioritized, well-rounded solutions to capability gaps
Ability to influence and engage with senior leadership and business stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.
In-depth understanding of healthcare industry standards, compliance standards, and best practices in IT management.
