To direct the student services and student records areas of the Graduate School operations. Oversee and manage workload and assignments for admissions, records management, and degree processing staff. Oversee the customer relationship management (CRM) and online application program for the graduate school. To assist the Dean with establishing policies for graduate students and to enforce the policies in the graduate catalog.
Duties & Responsibilities
Direct and supervise the Graduate Admissions and Student Services and Records staff, including hiring, training, performance management, and cultivating a positive work environment and team culture
Serve as the functional lead for graduate admissions and student services technical projects, managing information systems such as Banner, BlazerNet (GPS), and Salesforce
Represent the Graduate School on the Banner Team Leads committee and GSGA advisory committees (ADCOM and Graduate Curriculum Committee.)
Oversee the graduate application review process, develop admissions procedures, and ensure quality service to prospective students
Work with University Relations to manage the graduate CRM and online application program and direct communications between the Graduate School and all prospective graduate students
Develop, implement, and manage graduate admissions and student services policies, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and accreditation standards
Represent the Graduate School on institutional committees and collaborate with other departments on strategic initiatives related to graduate education at the university-level, collaborating with the Provost Office and other divisions across UAB
Collaborate with department leadership to operationalize new and existing graduate policies
Coordinate implementation of new programs and reviews curriculum changes
Host the annual Graduate Program Director Retreat and other training throughout the year to ensure understanding and compliance of Graduate School procedures
Work closely with deans, associate deans, faculty, and program directors to implement policies, develop retention strategies, and coordinate new program launches and curriculum updates
Manage graduate admissions and student services policies and procedures
Evaluate and revise existing policy as needed. Oversee the graduate catalog; review and approve new courses and program revisions; and coordinate curriculum changes
Serve as the Graduate School contact for academic appeals, registration changes and extensions, withdrawals, and other student conflict resolutions
Manage student records, registration processes, academic advising, and support services for graduate students, including orientation programs and graduation
Facilitate, develop, and implement programs such as Accelerated Bachelor's Masters (ABM) programs, Early Acceptance programs, and GradLink
Conduct regular program evaluations, prepare monthly reports on admissions trends and student outcomes, and use data to inform leadership on strategic planning
Performs other duties as assigned
Annual Salary Range: $67,070 - $108,990
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
