The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for full time, Visiting Professor positions in Computer Science, at the level of Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor, with a start date of September 1, 2025. The position will be for one academic year.
We seek strong candidates working in any area of computer science.
Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline.
We see individuals with evidence of excellent scholarship and teaching ability, and with an interest in collaborating on research with our current faculty. The visiting faculty member is expected to contribute to both research and teaching in the department. The teaching load will be a maximum of 3 courses for the year.
Departmental research areas include algorithms and theory; big data management, analysis, and visualization; cybersecurity, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). We also have groups working in interdisciplinary areas such as AI for games, cybercrime, online political communication, public health and social media, responsible AI, sports analytics, and urban computing.

Additional Information
In compliance with NYC?s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary (for 9-month) range for this position is $100,000-$160,000 for the Visiting Assistant Professor rank and $120,000-$180,000 for Visiting Associate Professor rank. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate?s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
