Pet Emergency Treatment in Anchorage, AK seeks an Emergency Veterinarian with interest in providing the highest quality medicine and surgery at our well-equipped, progressive emergency and specialty practice. Experience with ultrasound and endoscopy in an emergency setting is a plus. A great attitude, respect for all coworkers, and the ability to maintain good relationships with referring veterinarians are a must.
We are interested in speaking with experienced ER DVMs, internship-trained DVMs or GP DVMs who have an interest in emergency medicine.
Pet Emergency Treatment is currently the only 24/7/365 emergency care center in Alaska. Our highly skilled veterinarians and staff are dedicated to serving animals with exceptional emergency and referral care, providing compassion to the people who love them, and supporting the local veterinary community at any time of day or night. PET is proudly accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. On-site specialty services is expanding, and currently includes Internal Medicine and Advanced Imaging.

Our Hospital:
Spacious building with: 5 exam rooms, one large comfort/euthanasia room, large treatment area with a separate, soundproof cat room, two surgery suites, an isolation ward, separate large dog runs and a conference room for CE, training and meetings!
In-house laboratory capabilities including I-stats and Idexx Vet Suite (Catalyst Chemistry Analyzer, Procyte CBC, Sedivue urinalysis, and ELISA Snap Reader), Heskaview remote cytology. Abilities to run point-of-care ionized Calcium, cortisol, bile acids, T4, proBNP, fPLi, cPLi, 4dx, felv/fiv/hw, Lepto testing, and all blood transfusions crossmatches/typing, urine drug screening.
On site Digital radiography, Computed Tomography and Fluoroscopy
Endoscopy, bronchoscopy, and rhinoscopy
Excellent surgical monitoring capabilities with SurgiVet Multiparameter monitors, to monitor (non-invasive blood pressure, 3 Lead ECG, Heart rate, Digital SpO2, End Tidal CO2, Respiration, Temperature), Doppler BP, Hot Dogger warmers, Baer huggers and ventilators in each surgery suite.
Advanced surgical instrumentaton such as Vetovation vessel sealing devices, Bovie Cautery, suction and optional Smoke evacuation
Companion Cold Laser
Complete pharmacy, Blood products (including Canine Albumin, pRBCs, Whole Blood, FFP, Frozen Canine Platelet Concentrate), OTC products, various Intravenous fluid products, (including ILE, Vetstarch, and multiple crystalloids), and several brands of prescription diets.
Full-time Managing DVM and full-time Hospital Director
Licensed Veterinary Technicians working in treatment and surgery with trained Technician Assistants and Kennel Technicians.
In-hospital technician mentorship/apprenticeship program to build up our TA's into confident LVT's.
