The Department of Counseling and Student Affairs at Western Kentucky University is pleased to announce we are accepting applications for a tenure-eligible appointment at the rank of assistant professor. The Department offers CACREP-accredited graduate programs in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (both residential and digital pathways) and in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling; a graduate degree program in Student Affairs; and graduate certificate programs in Addictions Education, College and Career Readiness, International Student Services, and Career Services. Additionally, the department houses the Talley Family Counseling Center (TFCC), an onsite counseling training center. Please visit http://www.wku.edu/csa for more information. The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate will include but may not be limited to:
Delivering outstanding instruction and student engagement
Maintaining an active record of research and scholarly activities
Serving on university, college, and departmental committees and participate in professional service
Supporting accreditation maintenance, advise students, as well as engage in community outreach, marketing, and recruitment activities
Assisting in the coordination of the CMHC and MCFC programs, including the certificate programs
Job Requirements:
A doctorate from a CACREP-accredited counselor education and supervision program.
Experience as a Professional Counselor, eligibility for Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) credential in Kentucky, and familiarity in trauma-informed care.
A history of participation in relevant professional organizations and demonstration of success or potential success in scholarly productivity.
