Overview
***FOR THE OFFICE OF CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT***
Direct construction of ground up, large scale science and technical construction projects up to $800 million in costs, as well as provide management to senior project teams composed of internal and external staff, managingtheir own large complex science/technical construction projects to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in compliance with the University and client requirements. Perform and authorize complex financial reviews of capital projects and develop and oversee the implementation of capital construction policies, procedures, and project templates. Enforce standard project procedures for evaluation of proposals, bids, and contractor performance and effectively communicate project status with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction
Required Experience: 10+ years in Architecture, Engineering, Construction as a Project Manager with experience managing complex, large scale, ground-up construction in scientific spaces ( Wet Labs, Dry labs, Clinics, Vivariums, MRIâ™s, Research Labs.
Preferred Experience: Experience partnering with city/state/federal agencies and CADD.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Experience leading contract negotiations and managing vendor relationships. Well versed in budget management. Experience managing manager-level staff, specifically long-tenured Project Managers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to plan and manage a variety of long term projects, control costs and meet deadlines. Ability to work effectively utilizing problem solving and negotiating skills with senior management and design team. Knowledge of NYC building, zoning and other regulatory codes.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: NYS Registered Architect. Knowledge of construction and engineering design.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $177,000.00 to USD $227,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
