Baylor University is seeking a Production & Events Coordinator to support the mission and vision of the University within the School of Music. This position will be the primary stage manager and event coordinator for the School of Music, drive the successful execution of the School of Music's 300+ performances and events by overseeing general stage and rehearsal room use, coordinating resource needs, and creating clear planning documents. The Production & Events Coordinator will also manage a large team of student employees providing stagehand, technical production, and other operation support services. This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Operations.
A Bachelor's Degree and two years of relevant experience is required. A Master's Degree and four years of relevant experience is preferred. Education and experience will be considered in lieu of one another.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
Manage stage productions by supervising student workers and other contractors, providing clear stage directions to participants, ensuring shows run according to school standards, and creating documentation as needed
Ensuring that back of house support is provided and event needs are met. Coordinate and provide needed support for outside entities usage of school facilities
Coordinate school events by arranging for internal support personnel, submitting related room requests, and coordinating delivery of services by university service partners
Assign large team of student workers to all operations activities including concerts, recitals, and events listed in Astra qualifying for support
Directly manage student workers who primarily work in production operations including handling general administration and training
Supervise daily large and small ensemble rehearsals and the stage change process between different ensembles
Review rehearsal schedules, coordinate hall use between various stakeholders to reduce conflict and identify alternate resources
Oversee and manage concert hall usage by outside entities
Apply production/project management skills to other special projects, including creative media projects and other content
Support other operations roles as needed
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.
