Responsibilities:
Autonomously manages complex and strategic projects and other meetings including documentation of participants, action items, next steps and decisions made at the meeting.
Leads activities of project team(s) including scheduling and facilitating team meetings.
Creates long and short-term project plans, to include setting project milestones, target completion dates, and ensuring all deadlines are adhered to.
Serves as point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy.
Adjusts project schedule and target completion dates on the project as needed to accommodate for change related to the project.
Communicates with executives or HSIS leadership to ensure the project is aligned with department goals.
Documents and monitors any and all risks associated with the project
Updates project sponsor and team regarding project status and progress on a regular basis.
Performs contract analysis including addressing any data stewardship concerns.
Along with project sponsors, identifies measurable benefits of proposed projects.
May independently run and be responsible for various standing meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field and ten (10) years of related experience required. Work experience may not substitute for education requirement.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
Required: One or more certifications in the fields of project management or process certifications e.g. (PMP, Agile, Six Sigma, etc.)
Preferred: Epic certification not required. The person in this role needs previous experience successfully managing large, complex projects in a healthcare environment. Ambulatory projects experience is strongly preferred. Experience with Epic is also preferred but not required. Knowledge of ambulatory clinical operations and workflows, patient scheduling and intake, check-in and kiosk processes and workflows, patient throughout principles, and the nuances between primary care and other specialty practices is also preferred. From a project management perspective, strong project management skills are needed. Familiarity using key project management tools and disciplines. Strong communication and follow-up skills.
