The ICICLE NSF-AI Institute (https://icicle.osu.edu/), with a large multi-institutional, and multi-disciplinary team, is working on state-of-the-art research and development in AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and High-Performance Computing (HPC) to assist in the design of plug-and-play AI solutions for three major use-inspired science cases (digital agriculture, animal ecology, and software foodsheds). The institute is looking for a software engineer to work with the project team members in integrating solutions being designed by the team members into the ICICLE software stack, hardening these solutions, testing these on modern computing continuum testbeds (edge devices to clouds to HPC systems), and making software releases.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in computing related disciplines; Extensive skills in programming in C, C++, Python, DL/ML/AI frameworks, CI/CD tools, version control systems, and Linux (kernels, file systems, and drivers); knowledge of modern computing, networking, and edge technologies and their trends;
Desired
0-2 years of experience in programming in C, C++, Python, DL/ML/AI frameworks, CI/CD tools, version control systems, and Linux (kernels, file systems, and drivers), preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills to work with a large team; willingness to learn new systems, technologies, and tools. Ability to work independently and resolve issues with minimal direction. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. experience with programming/scripting.
The target hiring range for this job profile is $55,000 - $72,400. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
