Carnegie Mellon University's department of Mechanical Engineering is searching for a Technical Project Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing technical and administrative support to the research labs at CMU on a project that focuses on creating implantable cell-based bioelectronic devices that can produce therapeutics and measure disease-relevant biomarkers. The technical responsibilities include working with PhD students and postdocs on project-related equipment and systems, such as 3D printing, building cellular compartments, designing experimental systems, and conducting experiments. You will also handle inventory management, equipment preparation, maintenance, and assisting with experiments. This role will work closely with others to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and includes collecting information and data from other tasks, compiling project report documents, creating presentations, maintaining experiment records, and assembling data summaries for progress reports and presentations. In addition, you will also provide support to all staff for experimental and data tasks and help facilitate communication between the research labs and the leadership team.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Working with PhD students and postdocs on equipment and systems related to the project, including 3D printing, construction of a cellular compartment, design, construction, and building of related experimental systems, and conducting experiments.
Working closely with (non-technical) Project Manager and others in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including collecting information and data from other project tasks, compiling project report documents, putting together presentations, maintaining records from experiments, and assembling data summaries for progress reports and presentations, including preparing graphs and collecting and compiling required technical information.
Supporting all staff for experimental and data tasks and helping unify communications between the research labs and the leadership team, including the project manager.
Inventory management, preparing and maintaining equipment and assisting with experiments.

You should demonstrate:
Qualifications:
Doctorate Degree required
3-5 years of experience
Hands on experimental work
Proven track record in research and publications
Experience in building and analyzing mechanical systems
