The Network Coordinator is a member of the CALS IT team and is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure and services along with moderately complex technical integrations across multiple systems, including in-house systems, acquired commercial, and external such as public cloud service offerings. The position provides day-to-day maintenance and long-term assistance to ensure network subsystems and infrastructure function together and business needs are met. In addition, this position has responsibilities as a member of the CALS Network Consortium to collaboratively manage networks across the college. Customers supported by this position include CALS Departments, the CALS Agricultural Research Stations, and CALS Administration. This position is posted at the levels of Network Engineer II and III. The level of the position will be determine based upon the selected candidate's qualifications and experience as described below:
Network Engineer II: At least one year of professional experience working in a networking focused role is required.
Network Engineer III: At least five years of professional experience working in a networking focused role is required.
Required Qualifications for ALL levels:
Applicants must have professional experience, training, and/or education with the following:
-Configuring, auditing, securing, troubleshooting, and designing network infrastructure, systems, and services -Assessing a range of network solutions and products -Experience with overlapping technologies, their dependencies, and the role each serves in the network services. (e.g., having experience with disparate components of a network stack; other relevant responses) -Communicating status, plans, and resolutions
In addition to the above, to be considered for a level III position, the following qualifications are also required:
-Experience training staff and/or clients -Experience with large scale network deployment
Preferred Qualifications for all levels:
-Experience with project management -Experience with long-range wireless solutions -Networking focused professional certifications (e.g., CCNA or CompTIA Network+)

-This position is located in Arlington, WI. Some travel will be required. -This position performs onsite work functions at our Agricultural Research Stations (ARS). The selected candidate's work environment will include performing both indoor and outdoor work; working in potentially dusty/dirty areas; and occasionally working near farm animals. -A criminal background check may be conducted on the selected candidate. -A one-year evaluation period may be required. -The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment.
