The newly created Joe C. Wen School of Population & Public Health has experienced exceptional growth in the last five years. Across its nine degree programs, the School trains approximately 1,600 undergraduates and 200 graduate and doctoral students annually and has one of the largest undergraduate cohorts of public health in the country. The School's research portfolio tops out at roughly $40 million annually on average. Along with our student population, the School's 60 faculty members, 100 staff members, and 75+ researchers are dedicated to the achievement of health equity for all populations through teaching, research, service, and public health practice -- locally and globally.
Your Role on the Team
Uses marketing concepts in performing responsibilities such as planning, developing and implementing basic marketing plans and annual recruitment campaigns (from start to finish) to meet student recruitment goals for the school's nine degree programs, with an emphasis on the Master of Public Health degree.
Duties include drafting promotional or marketing materials for digital campaigns and social media campaigns/posts. The coordination of and actual creation of artwork/graphics for campaigns. Managing from start to finish, School's presence at regional and national recruiting events (both virtual and in-person). The incumbent should have intermediate knowledge of how to increase online visibility, how to boost search engine rankings and drive organic search traffic. May include basic market research through focus groups, social media performance analysis, and competitive market analysis.
Will oversee online recruitment platform and school ambassador program. Travel to conferences and recruitment events, as needed. Hybrid work schedule. While this role will report to the Director of Communications & Marketing, this person will also be interfacing with the school's Office of Student Affairs, Alumni Relations and degree Program Directors to meet recruitment goals.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required:
Strong knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, strategies, and best practices.
Strong knowledge of institutional products and services.
Thorough analytical and written communication skills.
Knowledge of customer service standards / procedures.
Organizational skills and skills in file creation, maintenance and management.
Written and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong knowledge of social media applications and its role in marketing programs
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
5 - 7 years of experience in marketing, student admissions & recruitment, or similar fields with same skill-set.
Preferred:
Knowledge of the campus center including its achievements, mission, vision, goals, objectives and infrastructure.
Experience in higher education recruiting
Graduate degree in higher education, marketing, or related area, preferred.
Special Conditions:
Hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
Travel required to conferences or recruitment events, local and national.
