Job Overview
The Financial Planning and Analysis System Lead is responsible for analyzing, configuring and evaluating the Financial Planning and Analysis system, Adaptive Planning, and providing support to the University Budget Office and campus stakeholders.
They document business and operational requirements, and define, configure, and deploy business processes and configuration changes within the Georgetown Workday tenant and the Workday Planning extension, Adaptive Planning, in conjunction and collaboration with the University Budget Office, and other Office of the Chief Financial Officer offices and campus partners.
Additionally, they take the lead role in supporting and collaborating with GMS Core Team and campus partners on ongoing reporting and analysis needs within the enterprise resource planning system; and manage the project tactically driving the success by applying proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills Key responsibilities and work interactions include:
Analyze existing processes using a solutions-oriented approach and provide well-documented recommendations for improvement
Design, build, test, deploy, and support systems and processes to meet requirements while adhering to change management and system development lifecycle best practices
Manage a scope of technical configuration that includes business process workflow, custom fields, custom validations, custom reports, dashboards, integrations, and access rights.
Prepare communications and presentations on system changes to share with stakeholders.
Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including both functional and technical teams comprised of individuals at various seniority levels with different technical and non-technical backgrounds
Collaborate with other organizations in Workday Community to share knowledge and create and/or adhere to industry best practices.
Coordinate with Workday's Product Management to provide input on system enhancements and the product road map
Help maintain the financial training program and provide user support services
Innovate processes to improve training and increase end user engagement
Work Interaction and Work Mode Designation
Reporting to the Director, Financial Systems and Processes, the Financial Planning and Analysis System Lead works closely with the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, the rest of the University Budget Office, and other functional leads and partners of the GMS Core Team.
This position has been designated as Telework. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Accounting, or Finance [note: consideration will be given to combination of education and relevant experience]
4 to 6+ years of progressively responsible hands-on experience in financial system support activities, data warehouse support activities, or business working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software - preference for 3+ years supporting Workday as a system administrator
Strong organization and project management skills for managing concurrent projects
Ability to acquire new skills/knowledge to keep up with the shifting landscape of stakeholder requirements and system capabilities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in order to produce timely, efficient and high-quality deliverables
Ability to document technical requirements that align with stakeholder needs and priorities
Ability to prioritize work to align with stakeholder priorities
Demonstrated knowledge of financial applications and modern data analysis and reporting tools
Ability to analyze and document business processes in a technical format
An understanding of project management software
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree, Workday Pro, or CPA license
Demonstrated project management skills, strong business acumen, process and data analysis and solutions orientation - in particular, toward implementing a new finance system
Experience as a project lead implementing a new finance system
Experience with Cognos BI tools
Experience with financial planning tools and/or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Working knowledge of the higher education industry
Project Management experience and related professional certifications
Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $80,429.00 - $157,238.93
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
