The Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement seeks a Director of Donor Stewardship to implement a communications plan for all UK HealthCare fundraising. Reporting to the Senior Director of Donor Relations, the successful candidate will manage the process of creating materials that demonstrate the impact of donor gift(s) on our mission, convey our gratitude and, if appropriate, inspire donors to give more. Assign and supervise the work of other team members and vendors to create materials, including but not limited to cases for support, newsletters, impact reporting, digital communication, and events, ensuring every donor has a gratifying gift experience. In partnership with the Senior Director of Donor Relations, develop custom stewardship plans for high level donors. Oversee additional stewardship processes including gift acknowledgements, donor signage ordering and tracking, honor roll process, donor recognition needs, etc. Ensure that assigned projects are completed on schedule and according to standards established in the annual plan.
This position will require a high degree of coordination with faculty, the campus stewardship team, campus communicators, gift officers and others to prepare these materials. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success managing multiple projects with competing deadlines, and experience supervising others, plus 3 or more years' relevant experience. Must also demonstrate proficiency in working with data (Excel). Basic knowledge of graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite) and video production/editing (Premiere) a plus but not required. They will also be someone of high ethical standards who is able to adhere to standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with a proven record of success in creating strong and engaging donor communications. Demonstrated success in marketing, communications, stewardship or philanthropy is also required.
A writing sample is required when applying for this position, with preference for philanthropic messaging: impact report, acknowledgement letter, announcement of gift, etc. If unavailable, please submit storytelling-type writing sample or a writing sample with a small, selective audience in which you are communicating about an initiative important to that constituency.
